About

I have created this site because I have learned how to tie a tie.  On top of that I have tried other online tutorials and how found their demonstrations to be poorly executed, complicated, and difficult to follow.

I then tried to figure out how to describe how a tie is tied.  This is where I came up with the idea of a “tie hole”, the space that is created after you have put the tie around your neck, and crossed the two ends.

At this point you are holding the center of the two ends crossings with one of your hands (left or right doesn’t matter).  The space that is comprised of your hand, your neck, and the parts of the tie between your hand and your neck I have described as a “tie hole“.

If you are able to grasp this concept, then there are only four places you can move the large end of the tie (which I call the “fat end”). You can put the fat end in or out of the hole, OR behind or across the front of it (technically you are going behind or across the center of where the two ends cross, but you should get the idea).

Using these four choices you should be able to not only tie a tie, but easily remember how to do it.
